3 Simple Powerful Practices

The power that lies within all of us is activated by giving it.

The above quote is something Reiki Practitioners learn right away. There is a sense of feeling whole and healed when one gives fully to another. Not that Reiki energy comes from within, the intention is  pure letting go, it’s allowing the energy to flow. It’s the trust, the letting go that is the true power. When we believe in ourselves, and believe in universal intelligence, we can truly be free.

When we are feeling impatient for instance, the energy is that of ‘holding’ on. Isn’t it interesting that there are so many of us that ‘understand’ intellectually, that everything is energy which is always moving and yet we still want to hold on to it. Absolutely everything is energy, constantly moving. EVERYTHING, really grasp what that means!

Our feelings and emotions, need to move, however our minds say: oh no I can’t feel this, this isn’t polite or I can’t let them see me like this. So we hold on. This holding on creates dis-ease because energy has to move in some way.

We are only in June and it feels like this has been such a long year! It’s been a journey of old ‘stuff’ surfacing so we can identify, accept and then let go. So many people are feeling like they are ready to ‘burst’ into their true/new selves, but at the same time feeling impatience.  It has been brought to my awareness, that this ‘impatience’ is actually resistance as well. Holding onto expectations of what life is supposed to look like instead of completely allowing what is. Truly allowing is a belief and trust in the natural order of life.

We are infinite beings, our human lives are simply an experience, personally I feel we take it far too seriously. I’ve heard it been said: We need to care, but not that much. As we walk this human life, there are only a few things we need to do on a consistent basis for the purpose of confirming and reminding ourselves who we are.

Each and every day, we need to give thanks for the day, feel gratitude for simply waking up, and also feeling thank-ful for all the blessing ahead in our day. Next, meditate every single day. It doesn’t have to be for hours, just 10 minutes! Lastly connect to nature in some way, whether it’s sitting in the grass or watching and appreciating the birds.

These simple yet powerful practices bring us back to the essence of life, and from that place we connect to the life force/all that is. By doing this we will be less likely to get caught up in what is unreal, which is always changing. Only the unchanging is real, and that is; source energy, our own higher self and love.

When we keep our attention on these 3 simple things, we will see a difference in the quality of our lives.
